Who We Are
Here at Life Gets Better Together, Inc., we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2020, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to end homelessness for and empower LGBTQIA youth, ages 16-24, in Newark and the surrounding areas.
Mission
Our mission is to help and empower youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, between the ages of 16-24 by providing quality emergency, supervised, and supportive transitional housing. We offer a wrap-around approach, which consists of weekly case management, life skills training, group/individual counseling, educational & financial responsibility resources. While Life Gets Better Together Inc. is a safe haven for LGBTQ youth during their stay, we also provide ongoing services through our aftercare program.
Vision
Our vision is to improve access to housing, improve mental and physical health outcomes, reduce incarcerations, foster positive family relationships, and create a sense of stability and safety among the LGBTQ population.
More specifically, we plan to achieve this by soliciting donations, obtaining grant funding, and partnering with community organizations.

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Life Gets Better Together, Inc. emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the LGBTQ community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. We’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Our goal at LGBT Housing is to provide LGBTQ youth with a safe environment, support, and community. Not only do we place an emphasis on housing youth, but we also place a major emphasis on education.
